August is National Immunization Awareness Month!
The goal of National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is to increase awareness about immunizations across the life span. This year, the N.C. Immunization Branch is encouraging Local Health Departments to focus on a specific age group during various weeks of the month. Perhaps your organization would like to schedule promotional events during each week of the month, or target one age group during the appropriate week. The following age ranges will be featured during the dates listed below:
Week 1 August 1-7 Everyone
Week 2 August 8-14 Children, birth through 5 years of age
Week 3 August 15-21 Adolescents, 11 through 18 years of age
Week 4 August 22-28 Adults, 18 years of age and older
